It’s not easy being green…

In recognition of St. Patrick’s Day, we thought it would be a great time to honor those on Broadway who play roles in the famous green hue. They make us laugh…they make us cry…they make us green with envy…(see what we did there?).

They know that it’s not easy being green…but on St. Patrick’s Day, it might just be the best gig in town.

Wicked JOAN MARCUS

1. Elphaba

Wicked’s green girl has taken Broadway by storm and has endured the make-up routine time and time again. Could the famous witch be a little bit Irish?

NICKY Ave. Q Maggie Lakis and Cull R. Titmas

2. Nicky from Avenue Q

Ok, so no make-up involved but we still appreciate our green puppet friend Nicky from Avenue Q who sings about loving you no matter who you love.

THE GRINCH3. The Grinch

The Grinch appears in not only one but at least TWO musicals. Seussical and Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical are both former big Broadway hits for Mr. Mean, but something tells us, he likes the attention. We can’t wait until he visits the Fox Cities this November!

Young Frankenstein4. Young Frankenstein

Young Frankenstein is the green guy from your childhood. From hearing the classic tale to seeing it come alive on stage, the “monster” of a man is made by his green make-up.

KERMIT5. Coming soon… The Muppets?

The first character to admit that it’s not easy being green may be hitting the big stage himself. Kermit the Frog is ready for his close-up as The Muppets on Broadway rumors fly. Disney is reportedly exploring the option of bringing the lovable characters to Broadway soon.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from your Fox Cities P.A.C.!
